Export Capacity Building
Despite a constantly expanding landscape of opportunity in the modern world (including an increasing number of trade agreements between governments), micro and small enterprises face uphill challenges in getting their products and services to access regional and international markets. Lack of awareness and understanding of technical standards and market requirements, failure to appropriately scale production, plan operational capacity and embrace technology and strategic partnerships based on research, improper packaging and labelling, poor business practices, inadequate product development, strategic branding, marketing and financing are only a few of the issues to be addressed in building export capacity. Application of knowledge, access to information, cultural awareness, efficiency and timing are also critical success factors in export development efforts.
